
Ron
Davis is a versatile professional keyboardist
who has performed with The Four Tops, Otis Rush, Spencer Davis and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band
His current keyboard activities include:
Acid Funk Duo which features Ray Hangen on drums and Ron on organ, keybas, synth and vocals. They play trippy funk originals and edgy versions of cover tunes by the Stones, Band and Animals. You can hear and see more at Myspace and YouTube.
The
show also features vocals by Ron Davis covering
tunes by Ray Charles, Taj Mahal,
Bob Dylan, Mose Allison and others. The lineup
is Ron on organ and left hand bass, Doug Morgano
on
guitar and Rob Lynch on drums, along with guest
vocalists and players.
The
Ron Davis Solo Piano Act encompasses his singing
and playing a range of juke joint blues and boogie
woogie as well as the New Orleans styles of Professor
Longhair and Doctor John. Ron also plays jazz, swing, rock and standards ranging from Ray Charles and Jerry Lee Lewis to Duke Ellington, as well as funky versions of Beatles, Stones and Band classics.. The addition of left hand “acoustic bass” on
some tunes gives the act a full, danceable sound.
Ron is also available as a sideman for bands and
vocalists.
